CNBC's SquawkBlog
SquawkBox is CNBC's premier morning business talk-show which airs from 7.00-10.00 a.m. (ET) every working weekday.
Update: In Dec 2005, CNBC revamped the last hour of SquawkBox to include live coverage from the NYSE floor by Mark Haines and Erin Burnett (formerly from Bloomberg TV). This segment is aptly called "SquawkBox on the Street".
SquawkBox was launched on 7 Aug 1995 and celebrated it's 10th year on air last year. The show's main draw is its fast pace and unscripted discussions focusing on all the latest and up to the minute ongoings within the business world, to get traders and investors prepared for the trading day on Wall Street. Hosted by veteran CNBC anchor Mark Haines, SquawkBox features a guest host each day from the who's who list in business. Each guest is now able to share his/her thoughts on the market in CNBC's Blog, appropriately called SquawkBlog.
The regular cast, who are part of the SquawkBox crew and who also contribute to the blog include David Faber, Joe Kernen, Steve Liesman and Becky Quick. Two new additions to the SquawkBox crew include Carl Quintanilla (who used to be a SquawkBox regular) and Charles Gasparino (formerly from Newsweek & WSJ).
